From stock style used engines to full on max effort builds, we have the experience to build and tune whatever suits your situation. We have our own series of long connecting rods for large cc strokers as well as dyno tuning to make sure your build is truly "drop in" ready.

We have the hard to find jigs for proper set up and adjustment for your VW transmission. From "super-diff" and close ratio builds to stock type 1 transmission rebuilds we can get your vehicle back on the road.

Pat started his career as a VW mechanic and performance shop owner. PBS (Pats Bug Shop) racing was a record holder in the 80s. While we prefer to work on engines and transmissions without the car itself, we will deal with install and some auto repair for specific customers. We have limited time and space so this is only with an agreement in place.

We have started on some new VW based projects. There will be a separate website for TaftaCyclecar.com in addition to a new cooling system for VW type 1 engines. While this center mount Porsche style fan is being designed for the cyclecar it can adapt to any type 1 VW set up. This is in the works currently but will consist of a new housing, center mount fan, and distributor-less ignition set up.
