Founded in 1985, Tafta Inc. has been providing high-quality machining services and custom fabrication for over 35 years. Our experienced team of machinists have worked on a wide range of projects, from small-scale prototypes to large-scale production runs. We are proud to have built a reputation for excellence in our field.

Our History
Pat started his career as THE aircooled VW engine specialist here in Donalds / Shoals Junction SC. He went from a mild interest in racing to setting records with his race team within a few short years. Pat started his career as THE aircooled VW engine specialist here in Donalds / Shoals Junction SC. He went from a mild interest in racing to setting records with his race team within a few short years. This escalated into a custom 400ci flat 4 engine with a 4-71 and nitrous, designed and built by Pat himself. Machining VW parts led to machining everything else, and here we are. From designing and building a custom intake manifold that allows 8 carbs to fit on a 8-71 supercharger to working on improving the landing gear design on a Corsair replica Pat is a problem solver by nature and puts this to use on a daily basis.

Tafta Cyclecar - We are working on a 3 wheeled cyclecar (2 wheels in the front, one in the rear) utilizing a custom frame with a Mazda transmission and an option of either a aircooled VW engine engine or a V twin engine. Prototypes are in the works and we have driven it.........more to come. A lot of custom fabrication is going into this project.
